One of the valuable features that I really appreciate using LinkedIn is the ability to do “people search”. Not many people realize that LinkedIn is designed as a search engine, and the people search ability is very powerful because it enables you to find strategic people to network and do business with. Over the last year the people search platform has almost doubled the search activity on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn has just released an upgrade to its previous people search feature. This is called “Faceted Search”. The “Faceted Search” feature includes filters that enable you to quickly and easily target your search for people and potential decision-makers that you want to connect with to increase your business. The new “Faceted Search” enables you to search the people based on their current company, passed company, location, relationship, location, industry, school, and profile languages.
Part of this new feature includes a module called “Refine By”. This enables you to select filters to refine or expand your search to get more information. LinkedIn has created an intuitive interface that helps you to refine your search easily by each one of those eight criteria. This means that you are able to find potential employees, business partners, customers or former colleagues far quicker than the previous search capabilities.
Over the last year LinkedIn has grown rapidly in its membership and this new search feature will really help you to find the right people that you are looking for without spending a lot of time filtering results by using the “Refine By” module.
Watch the video below to see a demonstration of how the “Faceted Search “feature operates on LinkedIn.
