Youtube’s popularity has tremendously grown since its debut in February 2005. As a Youtube user, it would be a waste of energy not to take advantage of it since it’s free. Statistically, in July 2006, 100 million videos were being viewed every day, and 2.5 billion were viewed in June 2006. In January 2008, about 79 million users had gotten over 3 billion views. This is a potential money-making field.

While numerous youtubers put out videos to get views, many do it with a specific purpose in view. If you want to broadcast for money, there points you will have to take in consideration.

1. A Youtube account: this is obvious; you can’t upload videos if you don’t have an account. It’s not complicated to sign up, create and customize a page.

4. Content: This is a crucial point in order to get views. Don’t upload videos regarding what you like but what Youtube viewers are looking for. Create your videos depending on the most popular keywords (or tags) on Youtube. For example, if there is a new 50 cent video, you are sure that you will get views uploading videos related to 50 cent.

Your videos must be original and creative; things that nobody thought of before. This requires a lot of works. You can also find a very popular video download, and upload it in your channel. However, you can be caught for copyright. So be sure not to upload videos that will put you into trouble.

6. Turn views into money: now, views won’t make money, but it will help. You gotta think strategically if you want to make money on the internet. Let’s say, you have a website from where you are trying to sell products, but you can’t get enough rankings from Google. You must now approach the problem from another angle. The tactic here is to drive traffic from Youtube to your website. How? Easy, your video annotations. You can write little messages that will be shown while your videos are being viewed. Now, write the address of your site in the description section of all of your videos, and write annotations for all of them as well. With the annotations, direct the attention of your viewers towards the description. Soon your viewers will start to click the link of your site to see your products, and your sells will increase.
